Ms. Melissa Fankhauser (Voice, Piano and Guitar Teacher) has been teaching music since 2011 and has been with NCA since 2015. She graduated with a BA in Music and Worship from Trinity Lutheran College in Washington. Ms. Fankhauser is certified in Musikgarten and has taught music and movement classes in Everett and Snohomish. She has also been active in community music and theater arts. She was most recently seen in "It's a Wonderful Life," A Live Radio Play at Warm Beach Camp. Her greatest hopes are to help others be the best they an be and to create experiences and memories that will last a lifetime. She is a singer/songwriter and devotes much of her time to prayer and seeking God.
Mrs. Courtney McLain(Orchestra Teacher) received her Bachelors of Music Education at Western Washington University. She stayed at WWU to conduct the University Symphony Orchestra for 2 years as part of her program and received her Masters in Music Instrumental Conducting. Mrs. McLain has played violin since 1997 and has played every instrument of the orchestra at one point in her schooling. She has taught private violin lessons many years and has taught at NCA since 2011.
Mrs. Michelle Rhee (Violin and Piano Teacher). She has earned two master's degrees in violin performance from Cincinnati College Conservatory of Music and Bowling Green University. She is a Korean born American and resides in Mill Creek with her husband. She joined NCA in 2015. Her passion is to develop God given talent in students as well as helping them to love themselves and others through their music. She finds joy from witnessing how God changes each student through hardship in learning their instrument. Her teaching methods are based on Suzuki Violin method incorporated with additional methods that she has developed through her teaching career for the past 20 years. She is also a performer and currently a member of Pacifica Chamber Orchestra and performs throughout the year in Everett.
Mrs. Mamiko Robison (Piano Teacher) started studying the piano when she was six years old. She is a certified Yamaha piano teacher, and has been teaching in Japan and the U.S. for 25 years. She has been teaching at NCA since 2012. She has also played the organ for several churches in Japan and the U.S. She was a member of the Northshore worship band and also the Northshore Choir accompanist for several years.
Mrs. Lisa Walchenbach (Director of Fine Arts & Music Teacher) has been teaching Music since 1991, and has been with NCA since 2007. She graduated with a BA in Music Education from Hope College in Holland, Michigan. She has taught elementary and middle school choral and general music in both Texas and Washington in public, private, and Christian schools. Mrs. Walchenbach is certified in Kindermusik, Orff, and Kodaly teaching methods. She is strongly committed to serving God through the gifts He has given her, and loves to share her passion for music with her students. Lisa and her husband, Tim, have two sons who both graduated from NCA.
