Northshore Christian Academy

NCA Missions Month - 2017-2018

NCA has a long history of missions and outreach. For years, our students have embraced service projects to meet the needs around the world. Projects have gone to Dominican Republic, Kenya, Rwanda, Guatemala, Costa Rica, China, Juarez Mexico, South Africa, Afghanistan, and Scotland.

This year we are proud to announce that our emphasis is taking on a more local flavor. Our students efforts will center around local ministries which focus on serving the homeless and poverty centers of our communities.

K- 5th Grades students will collect items for Everett homeless population which will be distributed through our NCC ministry The Lord's Little Cooker

6th Grade- Collecting can goods to support Canyon Hills Community Church Food Bank

7th Grade- Collecting socks, toiletries, toothbrushes for the Everett Gospel Mission

8th Grade- Collecting School supplies for Casino Road Ministries

Items will be collected in middle school homerooms starting March 5- March 28.

We are looking for parent volunteers for each grade level who would be willing to pick up and deliver items to these local ministries on two drop off dates: March 16 and 30. Thank you in advance for your partnership in spreading goodness to our local community ministries.

Every year, NCA staff serves “under-resourced people” during their time off. It is purely voluntary and flows from their heart. Over the years, our teachers scatter around the world using their talents to help others. The trips ranged from Uganda, Cambodia, Mexico, and China.

All trips involved helping underprivileged or impoverished children or supporting local teachers who work in those countries. Did you know that 90% of our teachers have served in some sort of long or short-term missions projects in the US or around the world?

This year our staff members will venture to distant Asian countries to begin to establish Christian teaching-based centers in rural areas. Please keep them and all the efforts of our student body in prayer for the Lord of the Harvest to work mightily through the willing hands and feet of our school.

NCA Missions Outreach

Missions Outreach Month Every Year at NCA
Every year, Northshore Christian Academy sets aside over three weeks to learn about local and foreign missions. Chapels are focused on missions with guest speakers who share about their missions experience, how and why they have served the Lord locally and around the world, and the amazing outcomes of their service to others in need. Organized outreach opportunities serving our communities and impacting our world are provided for our students. Our students learn, first-hand, the true meaning of serving others through Christ, providing them with valuable lessons regarding a sense of purpose.

Why is Missions Month important at NCA?  Because Matthew 28:19-20  (The Great Commission) tells us: “Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Northshore Christian Church even refers to missions as “Global Discipleship.”

NCA students learn that they have the opportunity to serve Christ, no matter where they live! Their lives will reflect the compassion, love and concern of the Lord, not just for people in other countries, but also for members of their families, their neighbors, and for the under resourced. They will be challenged to put their faith and love for Christ into practice.  We want our students to share the gospel, the good news of Christ’s “living story” of hope and peace!
